Ukrainian startups can participate in the competition and join the Ukrainian stand of startups in Texas at the South By Southwest conference. SXSW has announced its 2022 dates for March 11-20 in Austin, Texas, after having its 2021 festival be virtual only.
6 startups-winners of the competition will be able to present their product at the expense of the Ukrainian Fund of Startups and Partners at SXSW 2022.
SXSW (South by Southwest) is an international conference that includes events dedicated to the essential achievements in technology, innovation, culture, and other areas. SXSW brings together leaders from around the world to discuss current issues. In total, the event is attended by more than 70,000 people and about 10,000 companies. SXSW guests included Elon Musk, Mark Cuban, Barack Obama and others.
The sprawling music, film, tech and media festival’s organizers have just announced their initial wave of showcasing artists, a deep and diverse set of acts from seemingly every corner of the globe.
Participation in the national delegation at SXSW 2022 is the presentation of Ukrainian products on the global IT arena and the attraction of international investment funds. And also an opportunity for Ukrainian startup founders to adopt foreign experience and replenish the list of world unicorn startups by capitalisation.

Startups in the creative industry can take part in the selection. The application must be submitted by January 10 on the website of the Ukrainian Startup Fund. Also among the mandatory conditions for participation:
- demonstrate a product or service (layout / prototype / etc);
- have a founder who speaks English (or an English-speaking representative);
- comply with the requirements for participation in the SXSW 2022 programme.
After the first stage of internal selection, all selected startups will visit their projects by the jury on January 21. After that, six winners will be chosen and will go to Austin. The organisers also partially cover the costs of participants: the cost of the stand, conference tickets, accommodation, flight under the innovative USF voucher in the amount of $ 10,000.
The first official delegation to the SXSW (South by Southwest) from Ukraine became the starting point of the USAID Competitive Economics of Ukraine Program and the Ukrainian Startup Fund, the Ukrainian Startup Fund, the Western NIS Enterprise Fund, the Western NIS Enterprise Fund Ukraine and the Hromadske organisation “Fundaciya Techiya”.
