For the first time, Ukraine will take part in the world’s largest IT conference


This year, Ukraine will be officially represented for the first time at one of the largest events in the world of technology – Web Summit. The conference will take place from 1 to 4 November in Lisbon.


“Ukraine is a powerful IT hub in Europe. We have something to offer other countries – digital services, innovative projects and a developed IT industry. For the first time, we will present Ukraine at a conference of this scale, where we will demonstrate our achievements. Participation in the Web Summit will tell the world about our IT ecosystem, attract foreign investors and generally have a positive impact on Ukraine’s image as an IT country,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

On November 2, Ukrainian companies will present the technological ecosystem of the state, and Mykhailo Fedorov will talk about the achievements of digitalization in Ukraine over the past two years, present a mobile application and portal Diia, as well as other ecosystem products at one of the Web Summit platforms.

“Ukrainians are known around the world for their IT skills and creativity. As the Government introduces a special legal and tax regime for IT companies called Diia City, we expect further development of Ukraine as a European hub for innovation and R&D. Ukraine’s participation in the Web Summit 2021 was made possible by the joint efforts of the Ukrainian Government and the private sector,” said Dmytro Senyk, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitization.

In addition, during the conference, there will be presented a special legal and tax framework for IT companies Diia City and the e-Residence project.

14 teams will demonstrate their startups to investors. 10 were selected and sponsored by the Ukrainian Startup Foundation on a competitive basis – SPOKK, Organization GG, Wantent, GIOS, Carbominer, Skyworker, Clasee, DJOOKY, AutoBI, Finmap. They will receive a promotional voucher with funding of up to $3,000 per team. Another 4 startups will be selected and supported by Ukrainian Hub (with the assistance of CRDF Global).
